Maritime Surveillance – Furuno Radar
Maritime Surveillance offers native and advanced compatibility with most of the newer Furuno radars on the market. Furuno Electric Company has gained an unrivaled reputation as a world leader in the industry. This is the result of technical excellence as well as a worldwide distribution and service network.
TZ Coastal Monitoring is the only package that offers this outstanding integration with Furuno. Up to 6 radars can be remotely merged, displayed and controlled from TZ Coastal Monitoring.
The system is compatible with the 2 main Furuno Radar ranges:
NavNet UHF DRS
◊ X band Radars
◊ Antenna maximum size is 6ft (also available with 4kW Dome)
◊ From 4kW to 25kW
Note This range can be directly connected to a PC running TZ Coastal Monitoring. This direct capability significantly reduces the hardware cost as no dedicated radar screen and/or processor is required (this will only require a specific « PSU » power supply).
FAR 2xx7 Range
◊ X Band Radar / Up to 8ft Antenna / Up to 25kW
◊ S Band Radar / Up to 12ft Antenna / Up to 60kW
Note In order to be interfaced to TZ Coastal Monitoring, this radar range requires a complete radar including dedicated processor, screen and keyboard.

Maritime Surveillance – Camera
Maritime Surveillance offers native compatibility with AXIS Cameras, selected FLIR cameras and is also compatible with the Pelco-D standard protocol to control virtually any type of camera. Our fully automatic video target tracking allows to easily monitor all potential threats. Up to 12 cameras can be displayed and controlled from TZ Coastal Monitoring.

Maritime Surveillance – AIS
Nowadays, Automatic Identification Systems are themost common tool for marine identification and control. TZ Coastal Monitoring comes with the best AIS management available. With our extremely powerful technology, AIS targets can be set to specific colors according to the type of vessel it is. Targets can be classified automatically or manually, giving you ultra-precise information about the surrounding vessels.
TZ Coastal Monitoring is compatible with all AIS receivers/transducers. Receivers will only be able to display the targets on the chart when AIS transducers will offer the possibility to automatically send text messages to vessels entering protected areas.
TZ Coastal Monitoring processes the raw radar echo data with its own proprietary high-resolution ARPA algorithm and post-processing filters to provide you with the best detection system. Virtually unlimited ARPA acquisition and exclusion areas can be set up in TZ Coastal Monitoring allowing the precise definition of areas to be monitored.
Maritime Surveillance – Alarms Management
TZ Coastal Monitoring offers advanced and fully customizable alarms management. In seconds, authorized users can create new alarms and rules using the alarm options menu.
It is very easy to draw a boundary of the area to monitor and assign a specific behavior that triggers a notification. A rule can be the following:

◊ Target Stops in the area
◊ Target Restarts from the area
◊ Define acceptable speed limits and assign it to the area
In the event of an alarm, operators can simply click from the alarm list to acknowledge it.
The notification is also fully customizable. Here are some examples:

Our open alarm management allows the use of custom scripts. Here is an example used for fish farms theft: when a boat enters in a forbidden area at night, lights are automatically turned on!
Maritime Surveillance – Remote Management
TZ Coastal Monitoring integrates with various types of cameras (day or night) allowing the operator to see and control the camera directly from the software. In addition, TZ Coastal Monitoring can be set to automatically track targets (AIS or ARPA targets) with the camera.
TZ Coastal Monitoring Remote product allows you to combine data (Radar, AIS and ARPA targets) from multiple stations (installed with TZ Coastal Monitoring One Radar or TZ Coastal Monitoring Two Radars). The operator in the Supervision Center (where TZ Coastal Monitoring Remote is installed) is able to see and control everything.
TZ Coastal Monitoring Remote can also be used when the Radar and AIS are installed far away from the operator site and when creating a high speed local network is not possible. In this case, a “headless” computer running TZ Coastal Monitoring One Radar can be installed and forward the data to TZ Coastal Monitoring Remote in the Supervision Center. The Radar picture is compressed, combined with AIS and ARPA data and sent over a low bandwidth network (*) to the Supervision Center:
Maritime Surveillance – VHF/Record & Replay Function
TZ Coastal Monitoring allows interfacing up to 4 VHF which allow the monitoring of up to 4 Channels at the same time. In order to connect 4 VHF to TZ Coastal Monitoring an external sound card will be required. TZ Coastal Monitoring will be able to record all the VHF communications (Record and Replay module required).
The intuitive user interface offers a very easy way to go back in time in order to analyze all vessels movements and the related VHF communications together with boat movements, Radar Pictures and Videos.
This is an optional module which allows recording all the data coming from the different sensors connected to TZ Coastal Monitoring.

It is then very easy to specify a date/time and display instantaneously all the targets at their specific location at this date/time. This capability allows the user to go back in time to listen to old VHF conversations together with AIS movements on the chart.
Maritime Surveillance – Weather Forecast
When the elements get out of control, the sooner you know, the safer you are! TZ Coastal Monitoring gives you free and unlimited access to weather forecasts worldwide. Reliable weather forecasts (up to 16 days) can be downloaded for free directly through the software or received by email. In addition to the weather service, TZ Coastal Monitoring can also be connected to a Real Time Weather Station.
TZ Coastal Monitoring offers free and unlimited access to our weather server. Weather forecasts can be received by email and/or Internet.
Real Time Weather
In addition to the weather forecasts, TZ Coastal Monitoring is able to receive data coming from a Weather Station in order to receive real time weather information (Wind Speed and Direction, Air temperature, Atmospheric Pressure)
