By having multiple sensors on board the platform, the drone is able to search and identify concentration of different kinds of gas and smoke. The drone reports these findings in real time and alerts the operator on the type of gas, location and sends videos from the location. In addition to that, the drone is able to detect fires using its thermal camera. These applications help detect leaks and fires faster and safer.

Via color treatment, Software Technologies and Multimedia Systems have detected forest fire and the smoke created during combustion, and isolated these visual components from the rest of the scene. Due to the rapidity and precision of detection, the use of this innovative system is focused on environmental surveillance systems using drones.

The application of image-processing surveillance systems for phenomena with impacts on the environment, including deforestation, fires and floods. These types of early detection systems in order to detect such events and prevent further environmental disasters.

In the case of deforestation, various algorithms that allow the detection of fire and smoke generated during a forest fire as well as their fundamental characteristics (area, wind direction…). Across the globe, the demand for firefighting drones is on the increase, this is because firefighting drones are very effective in combating fire outbreak. With real-time data sent to firefighters by drones, experts can detect the severity of a blaze. It also helps firefighting agencies to know what equipment to dispatch, how many crews should be deployed in order to halt the destruction of lives and properties or where hovercraft can be positioned amphibiously.  As such, the opportunity saving lives has improved.

OPTION 3 Hovercraft - Amphibious Firefighting

Hov Pod now offers a amphibious firefighting option to tackle fires around airport perimeter lakes, mudflats, tidal areas or indeed in any areas difficult to access by regular fire truck. Hov Pod Amphibious Fire Fighting option further extends the fire fighting, with aerial drone view and rescue capabilities of the Carbon Infinity hovercraft.

Many locations are inaccessible to regular fire fighting trucks, so the Carbon Infinity can quickly deliver fire fighting equipment to tackle emergencies. Homes and chalets built on stilts are very often in shallow waters or mud so are inaccessible to boats and hard to get to by other means owing to distance from shoreline. Equally homes on small islands in ice seasons are impossible to reach.

Fixings for the amphibious firefighting solution enable quick deployment, so when not configured for fire fighting applications, the hovercraft can also be retrofitted with the victim carrying stretcher for mud, ice and water rescue situations. Air pumps can be added to help reduce suction during mud rescues.

Thanks to the use of lightweight but exceptionally durable properties of carbon fiber and Kevlar, the new Carbon Infinity Fire hovercraft has a superior payload capability, which enables a crew of 2 plus the addition of the high performance twin discharge pump, foam monitor and 120 Liter foam tank unit.

The cockpit mounted fire pump draws water from shallow water, lake or puddles in mud flats via a filter (alternatively a suction line from a fire truck based on shore can be run). The foam is discharged to a movable foam monitor nozzle mounted in the cockpit or a hand held foam branch pipe. The amphibious firefighting system can utilize direct water discharge for cooling or draw foam concentrate from an optional on-board mounted 32 gallon (120 liter) foam tank.

The flat bottom profile of the hovercraft hull provides a stable working platform, and a support gantry allows a single operator to stand up, to direct the foam / water at the fire source.

Option 4 Tethered Drones - Amphibious Firefighting

Tethered drones could be used in real-time in unmanned aerial systems with the aim of monitoring a wider area than through fixed surveillance systems. This could result in more cost-effective outcomes than conventional systems implemented in helicopters or satellites. Both drones and hovercraft could also reach inaccessible locations without jeopardizing people’s safety.

In the past, firefighting was a hazardous engagement that usually endangered both the rescuer and the victims because of inadequate logistics.  Thanks to tethered drone technology, it is now possible for emergency responders to respond to fire accidents while saving time and money often spent on investigations. OPTION 6 TRANSRANGER - FIXED WING DRONE

Our engineers have developed various unique and proprietary features for the Transranger including but not limited to quick release wing latches, integrated internal fuel tank, aerofoil shaped landing gear, antennas build into the winglets and internal GPS, meaning zero drag induced by these systems, rapid deploy airframe for quick assembly and transport, highly optimized manufacturing and composite techniques along with many other ‘Transranger only’ features.

These features and design values allow for an incredibly low weight system with a maximum take-off weight of only 16kg.
